Shastri Mapping and Matching Workshops(SMMIWs) -One Health

The second thematic cluster on ‘One Health’ and the Series of Shastri Mapping and Matching Bi-National Interest Workshop was launched on March 2, 2023 in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD). This SICI led bi-national ‘One Health Cluster’ aims to strengthen the collaboration between Indian and Canadian researchers, academics, and major stakeholders i.e. central and federal governments; state and provincial governments along with agencies and institutions engaged in the domain of One Health.

The institute intend to organize 3-4 bi-annual workshops on the topics related to ‘One Health’ including zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, food safety and food security, vector-borne diseases, environmental contamination, and threats to people, animals.

Objectives:

  1. To bring researchers together from both countries to explore collaborations and partnerships on topics of mutual interest.
  2. To enhance learning and facilitate twinning partnerships for advanced research and development.

  • Food safety and food security
  • Vector-borne diseases
  • Environmental contamination
  • Health threats to people, animals, and the environment

Eligibility criteria

Candidates should be affiliated with an Indian or Canadian institution.
