In view of the evolving regional situation and potential travel disruptions, the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute strongly advises all scholars currently in India to closely follow the Government of Canada’s travel advisory: https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/india
Your safety and well-being remain our utmost priority. We encourage you to take the following steps:
- Register with the Registration of Canadians Abroad program: Registration Here
- Monitor Global Affairs Canada travel updates regularly
- Stay in close contact with your host and home institutions
- Reach out to SICI Offices for any support or guidance

In light of the evolving regional situation and the potential for unforeseen disruptions to international travel, the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute (SICI) strongly recommends that all scholars currently in India consider planning an early return to Canada as a precautionary measure. While this is not a mandatory recall, it is a safety-first advisory in response to the current uncertainties.
Your safety and well-being remain our utmost priority. To support your preparedness, we urge you to:
- Ensure you have completed your registration with the Government of Canada via the Registration of Canadians Abroad program
- Regularly monitor Global Affairs Canada’s travel advisories
- Maintain close communication with both your host and home institutions
- Contact the SICI Offices if you require any support or guidance during this time
